THE THIEVES NECK
8.00 p.m. SATURDAY 17th APRIL 2010

We had done a really successful private birthday party at a Bramhall tennis club earlier in the year but this was our first pub gig of 2010.
It felt like 'home sweet home' back at the Thieves last Saturday. The place was packed and I was reassured that our publicity machine (posters, bluetack and a free Saturday morning) was working smoothly.  We had a boisterous set planned replacing a lot of our slower numbers with faster ones. We launched into it as soon as the Chelsea Spurs game had finished (for our own safety!) opening with a new one, Fleetwood Mac's 'Dreams'.  The evening was fantastic fun and we (and the audience) particularly enjoyed '500 Miles' complete with Proclaimer specs that we had fashioned from 3D glasses left over from 'Avitar'.

We have Bramhall festival coming up on June 19th and probably another gig in the May. Keep checking the gig guide.

BRAMHALL VILLAGE SQUARE
SATURDAY 5th DECEMBER 2009

Well, we came back! This time with our Christmas set to delight the shoppers.

FARMERS GLORY RESTAURANT
OCTOBER to DECEMBER 2009

We played a number of regular gigs and some special events at the 'Farmers Glory'.  Again our big thanks to Terri and the staff for their support.

BRAMHALL VILLAGE SQUARE
SATURDAY 17th OCTOBER 2009

Well, this is as big as it gets in Bramhall! The coveted 'Village Square' slot. Up close and personal with the shoppers, it's good to 'keep it real'. We had great fun and I am sure we will be back.

FARMERS GLORY RESTAURANT
FRIDAY 4th SEPTEMBER 2009

What a fantastic venue! If you are looking for really excellent food, the friendliest staff you could ever want, a cosy secluded place…. and of course wonderful live music form a Bramhall based acoustic duo, then this is the restaurant for you. If you’re a couple looking to find your special romantic ‘place’ the Farmers Glory has that 'something'.  We are so taken with it we are going back and will be playing every month until the end of the year at least.. check the gig guide.

A big thanks to Terri and her staff for making it a great evening.. we hope to see you there in October!

WATERLOO ROAD
SUNDAY 12th JULY 2009

Big thanks to the residents of Waterloo Road who, despite variable weather conditions had a great afternoon…..I hope we helped.
From our nice dry gazebo we belted out our new ‘street party’ set.  It was very gratifying to see young and old actually dancing in the streets as we played ‘Dancing in the Streets’…..I love it when a plan comes together! We did a Michael Jackson tribute and our now ‘refined’ version of ‘Hey Jude’ for our big finish (where we got 'up close and personal' for some audience participation). The Pimm’s flowed along with the tales of planning permissions granted and the pros and cons of the recently added speed bumps. It was heart warming to see such community spirit. I wish there were more streets like Waterloo Road.

We are off to the windswept moors of Haslingden for our next gig. This is at the ‘Farmer’s Glory’ on Friday 4th September 2009. This is a charming restaurant on the moors so come along for  fine cuisine and some laid back musical entertainment (see the gig guide for details).

THE THIEVES NECK
8.00 p.m. SATURDAY 9th MAY 2009

The first thing we want to do when we finish a gig is party! The adrenaline is rushing around and everybody is singing your praises (mostly family and friends). As long as no big mistakes were made (thankfully a rare occurance) we are generally riding a wave. The second thing we want to do is another gig, soon! Thankfully this was the situation with our 'Thieves' gig closely following the Governors.
Back at our favorite pub we were given a friendly welcome and it was great to see some old and some new faces. We were pretty pleased with the evenings work and even tried some unrehearsed stuff, its getting to be a habit at this venue! I tried a solo version of Coldplay's 'Green Eyes' and we finished with a very experimental 'Hey Jude'! It was all pretty raw but we were amongst friends. A tidied up version of 'Hey Jude' is now in our set.
We have recently developed a penchant for cheese, in the musical sense that is. Not too much (we are watching the calories), but we treated the audience to some quite early on. It seems to work pretty well. We are keeping our cheesiest (Bee Gees 'How Deep is Your Love') for another occasion; watch this space!
Our next gig is a private street party, it will be nice to play outside in the sunshine!

THE GOVERNORS HOUSE
2.00 p.m. BANK HOLIDAY MONDAY 4th MAY 2009

Much like buses we have two gigs coming together after a four month gap. This is the first, The Governors in Cheadle Hulme where we will be the musical backdrop for the Bank Holiday B.B.Q. We are outdoors weather permitting, indoors if not.
We have been busy during our enforced absence and we have some new numbers to try out on these unsuspecting diners. They incorporate the latest addition to our band, a Boss drum machine. I am O.K. with stop, start, fill, clutch and accelerator but still not sure which one is the break!  I hope its sunny.

THE THIEVES NECK
8.00 p.m. SATURDAY 6th DECEMBER 2008

Well it took us a while to get this one but we made it at last. A big thanks to the management and  staff at the 'Thieves' . A great gig with some impromptu unrehearsed Christmas favorites as a finale.....well its Christmas why not! We will be back here in 2009.

We would like to take this opportunity to wish our fans (both of them) a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

POYNTON CIVIC CENTRE

7.30 p.m. SATURDAY 19th APRIL 2008

We are back with old friends 'Early Doors' supporting 'Uncovered' at this gig.  We all played on the same bill at Poynton British Legion about the same time last year. This gig, the brainchild of rock band Uncovered, was a sell out and we all enjoyed it, so much so we are doing it again!

The line up will probably have us on first at about 7.45 p.m. and end, in complete contrast, with rock band and our gigging mentors, Uncovered. If you haven't seen these lads before then prepare to be dancing in the aisles, they are not to missed! Somewhere in between you will be treated to engaging guitar three piece 'Early Doors', the friendliest guys on the circuit. The line up will also feature newcomers 'Nothing Sinister'.  It promises to be a great evening.

Tickets are still available at £ 6.50 each.
